Pure Aqua's water softeners are fixed-bed systems where ion exchange resins are held in pressurized vessels. Water is then pushed through the resin. Once a service cycle is complete, the resin becomes exhausted and can't remove more ions, requiring regeneration with strong acidic and basic solutions to restore its ion exchange capacity.
